Unique wedding venues are one of my favorite things about this business. Jessica & Nicholas did not disappoint! They held their ceremony at their church in Mishawaka, Indiana. After some rainy formal photos at a local park, we headed to the Lerner Theatre in Elkhart, Indiana for their reception. They didn’t let the pouring rain put a damper on their big day. Jess & Nick were totally willing to go outside for some portraits. I just had to get some shots of them under the amazing theatre sign out front! Photographing this wedding meant a 2000 mile round trip drive from Boston, but it was worth it! I got to visit family, and photograph the wedding of one of my longest known friends 🙂

Ever since I knew Meaghan, she talked about having her future wedding somewhere on the ocean. She and Dave decided on Dockside Restaurant in York Harbor, Maine. It rained in the morning, but the sun came out just in time for their early ceremony! Cocktail hour was on the lawn with delicious food and drinks, and lawn games for guests to enjoy. The best surprise was when they ended their reception with an amazing boat exit on the harbor!
Allison & Josh – The Press Hotel Wedding- Portland, Maine

Allison and Josh held an intimate wedding ceremony and dinner at The Press Hotel in Portland, Maine. Like many couples, wedding planning was becoming overwhelming for them, so they decided to elope with family and a few friends in attendance. We had a laid back day walking around downtown Portland. We took advantage of some of the unique decor in the hotel; newspaper printed wallpaper, wall mounted typewriters. Their huge suite with a rooftop view also gave us so many options to work with!
One major upside to eloping is, not having to be on a tight time table. The relaxed timeline allowed us to play with my MagMod light modifiers as well, creating some really unique portraiture.
Congratulations Allison & Josh!

The Boston Public Garden is so beautiful in the summertime. I was excited when Jenelle & Chris chose it for their engagement photos. A summer day in the city is always a good time! The weather was perfect, and when your couple looks like they walked off the pages of a magazine, you know it’s going to be a good day! They were also naturals on camera, making my job even easier. I always love shooting engagement sessions. It gives the couple and I a chance to get to know each other. It also helps them to be more comfortable being on camera if they haven’t had a session before.
I want all of my couples to have this experience when possible so I have added a complimentary mini engagement session to the wedding photography package! The mini session can be upgraded to the for couples who want to take advantage of all the awesome extras included in the full portrait session.

When I met Jen & Larry at their consult, I immediately knew we were the right fit for each other. They told me their wedding reception was going to at the Sheraton Commander Hotel in Boston, and the theme was going to be board games. My stepmother used to work for Hasbro Games in the marketing department, and I even tested out prototype games as a kid before they were released. It couldn’t be a more perfect match! They still had a DJ for ambient music and hosting, which I highly recommend for any event. I love when couples aren’t afraid to be unique and do something different. Guests loved the game theme too. They tried and learned new games, some colored with the kids, and it was a great way to bring everyone together!
Of course this wedding wouldn’t have been so perfectly executed without our friend Amy from Consider It Done Special Events! From coordinating the day all the way down to the unique decor, she kept everything running smoothly. I highly recommend hiring an event coordinator when you can. Planning is definitely not easy, and they can help make your big day even more amazing by taking the stress away from you!

It may have been the hottest day of the year, but Sarah & Evan’s wedding at the Tower Hill Botanic garden was nothing short of stunning! Tower Hill Botanic Garden may be one of the prettiest venues I’ve had the pleasure of shooting. It’s amazing that they open it up to events. The gardens are beautiful and full of so many flowers and so much color. The reception area is all glass, which creates an amazing atmosphere no matter the time of day. I can’t wait to shoot there again!

Tracey & James’ big day was my second of the weekend, with their ceremony and reception held at Cruiseport Gloucester. What an awesome way to wrap up the weekend before my birthday! Another upside to weddings at Cruiseport Gloucester is that it’s close to home, and on the beautiful Cape Ann of Massachusetts.
Tracey & James had such a sweet love story, as told by their family and friends. They met through an online video game, Tracey living in Boston and James living on the west coast. It was true love from the moment they got together in person, and decided to make it forever! James moved to Boston to be with Tracey, her son, and her parents. You could easily see how well they blended as a family and how much love they all shared!

I always enjoy trips into the city, but finding parking, and getting between multiple venues can be hectic and time consuming. At the Hyatt Regency Boston Harbor, you get the most amazing Boston city views without the stress of parking and transportation! The Hyatt Regency Boston Harbor is actually located at Boston Logan Airport, which makes things easy for family and friends traveling from far away. With multiple ballrooms and event spaces to choose from, they can accommodate all sizes of guest lists.
Dawn & Ryan both got ready in the rooms overlooking the city, had a wonderful outdoor ceremony right on the harbor, and the reception was held in the outdoor tent. Guests danced the night away to a live band, and ate a proper New England lobster dinner (except me, I hate seafood…I’m a bad Bostonian!).

Kerry & Ryan’s beautiful ceremony was held at the beautiful Church of St. Ignatius on the Boston College campus, followed by their reception at the Union Club of Boston overlooking the city. It was the perfect, elegant Boston wedding day! If you’re looking for a venue where you can have multiple spaces to change up the flow of your day, the Union Club is the place! I got quite the stair workout that day too 🙂 There are elevators of course if needed. They have many rooms for photos, as well as event spaces to keep your guests entertained!
