So I’ve been a little behind on updating my blog, but I’m getting there, I promise! Back in September I was the second shooter a wedding at the beautiful Searles Castle in New Hampshire. It’s no secret how much I love castle venues. After shooting at Oheka Castle in Long Island, NY last November, I was hooked! My shooting style is evolving into more of a candid/story type of style, and what better place to have your story come to life than a gorgeous castle! Your wedding day is the one day you can come out of your box or comfort zone and make some awesome memories and photos. That’s just what Kait and Mike did. They had a wonderful ceremony with personally written vows, he may or may not have almost dropped her going in for a dip during the kiss, and then followed a reception where the dancing (and air guitar playing) never stopped!
Thompson Island Wedding

I had the pleasure of second shooting with Amanda McMahon Photography back in September on the beautiful Thompson Island. It’s one of the harbor islands off the coast of Boston. The boat trip over only took about 10 minutes, and the views of the Boston skyline are just incredible. It makes quite the backdrop for a wedding! It was a beautiful day and we even beat the rain for the ceremony. It did get a little stormy and windy (there were even tornado warnings on the main land!) but luckily we were already under the covered reception space. It was a very New England style wedding, complete with lobster and oysters for dinner. Those who know me know that I actually hate seafood (I know, bad New Englander!) but luckily they also had incredible BBQ chicken. There was also pie served along with the cake. Not a lot of food photos though, I was busy eating! 🙂 I definitely hope to shoot there again soon!
Erin & Jerry – Stone Mountain Arts Center Wedding – Brownfield, Maine

Erin & Jerry were my first referral clients after I rebooted my business this year. Their wedding seemed so far away in January, but August 30th seemed to come and go so fast! I had made a trip up to their venue at the Stone Mountain Arts Center in May since I knew I’d need to see it beforehand. It also made it easier to meet with them and the wedding coordinator to finalize everything. I also got lucky and was able to crash at my uncle’s ski cabin near North Conway for the weekend of the wedding. It made travel a lot easier to go up the night before and not have to drive 3 hours home the night of!
Their wedding day was beautiful. The weather was perfect. Erin & Jerry decided to do a first look so they could get some of their family formals out of the way before the wedding. I love first looks, and my favorite part is the Groom’s reaction to seeing his bride for the first time 🙂 It was one of the most easy and relaxed weddings I’ve ever shot too! We got so much done before, that we were able to just do some bridal photos after the ceremony. Then Erin & Jerry were announced into their cocktail hour to enjoy some food and mingle with their guests before dinner. The food was amazing, a huge buffet, and some of the best wedding food I’ve ever had! I will say one of the perks of the job is getting to eat lots of awesome food and cake!
Janelle & Eric – Royal Sonesta Wedding – Cambridge, Massachusetts

I’ve been a little behind on blogging but finally, here are the photos from Janelle & Eric’s Royal Sonesta Wedding! I shot their engagement session in August of last year. They were my first client booking after I re-launched and revamped my business last fall. Janelle’s father is a long time friend of my father’s, and I’ve known him since I can remember. We had a great time shooting their engagement photos in Rockport, so I had been looking forward to their wedding day ever since.
There were a lot of great moments throughout the day, but one of my favorites was Janelle’s first look with her father, and dare I say, it was pretty adorable! You’ll see it in the photos below, so keep reading and scrolling! First looks are becoming popular with brides and grooms, but not everyone decides to do them. If you don’t do a first look with your spouse, you can definitely have one with your father. I did with mine, and it was an awesome moment! You just can’t let him see your dress before the wedding 🙂 There was also a lot of the “Janelle face,” and this is the first time I’ve ever seen the Best Man make a toast with an actual piece of toast!
Janelle wanted a big wedding, and a big wedding she got! It was one of the biggest I’ve shot to date, and it was a great time. I had an awesome second photographer by my side as well as my husband on video. The ceremony was at St. John’s the Evangelist in Cambridge, MA and the reception was at the Royal Sonesta in Cambridge, with the Boston skyline as a backdrop. It was beautiful! They also had a Beatles tribute band called Britishmania as part of their entertainment. That’s something I’ve never seen at a wedding before and the guests loved it. Keep scrolling to check out photos from their awesome wedding day!

There are some changes coming up for Heather Littlefield Photography regarding weddings. I promise it is all good things to come! I will post more about it soon once some details are finalized, but for now, enjoy another great George Street wedding on the blog! This time it’s Krystyna & Paul’s wedding at Spinelli’s in Lynnfield, MA, with their ceremony at a church before. I love Spinelli’s, they have awesome food! Anyway. I love weddings with cultural backgrounds and customs, and this one was Polish. They did special things at the ceremony and during the reception! They also had confetti cake. I was sad that my shoot shift was over before I was able to get a piece 🙁

Here’s another fun wedding I shot for George Street. This one was at the Hellenic Center in Ipswich, MA, which is actually right nearby me. I’m not going to lie, it’s pretty awesome when venues are close by. It makes the drive home after a long day not so bad. I’d never been to the Hellenic Center, but once I looked it up online I couldn’t wait to get there and see it, and shoot great photos. It was so beautiful! Had we not gone with a seaside Gloucester wedding for our own, I would have loved having ours at this venue. That’s how pretty it was! The other cool thing about their wedding was that their officiant was the same one we had for our wedding. I walked up, said hi to him and told him he was our officiant, and he remembered our wedding 🙂
Shayna and Gene were an awesome couple, and she looked absolutely stunning in her dress. They had a very short and sweet ceremony, and then it was onto the party, and what a heck of a party it was. The dance floor was full all night!
Promises to Keep Wedding – Jen & Ben

I’ve been shooting some weddings for a company called George Street Photo to fill in a few of my open dates. It’s been great working for them while I build my clientele, and I have even more weddings coming up! They are pretty awesome and let you share the photos, after a certain period of time of course, but not a bad deal at all! This is from my first wedding with them. It was held at Promises to Keep in Derry, NH. It is a beautiful venue with everything right on site. You have space for the ceremony, lots of cool spots for photos, and a nice reception hall. The food was pretty good too! It’s on the smaller side, so it probably wouldn’t fit a big wedding, but if you’re having a smaller sized wedding, I think it’s perfect!
The bride & groom are Jen & Ben. They had a Vietnamese ceremony before their traditional ceremony. I’ve always been fascinated by other cultures and their customs, especially wedding customs. Seeing Jen in her traditional dress was really cool! After the first ceremony, she changed into her wedding gown, and the party continued. Here are some of my favorites from the day!
These favors were chocolate covered coffee beans, yum! I even got to take one home 🙂
I usually start my days with the groomsmen when I’m not a lead shooter. These guys were cool. They met through online gaming and have been friends since they were kids!

I had the pleasure of working with Kristin Griffin Photography again as a second photographer to help her capture Emily & Alex’s Ipswich Country Club wedding. It was the day after Valentine’s Day, a perfect weekend to get married! Even if a blizzard hit… it’s a good thing I live nearby! They added a lot of personal touches to their wedding day, which I loved. Emily surprised Alex with a pretty awesome wedding cake, their adorable dog Roxy was part of the ceremony, and much more. You can tell that a lot of thought and planning went into their special day! They were such a cute couple and very much in love. You could also see how happy their families were that day too. Scroll on to check out a few of my favorite photos!
Long Island Wedding at Oheka Castle

About a month ago I had the great pleasure of working with Kristin Griffin Photography to shoot a wedding at the incredible Oheka Castle, located on Long Island in New York. It was one of the most beautiful venues I have ever seen with so many great spots for pictures, both indoors and out. I could literally spend an entire day shooting bridal formals! I was assisting Kristin, so she took care of the bride and groom, but I was able to snap some great details (my favorite!) and some fun shots of the bridal party, family, and friends. The flower girl quickly befriended me and was happy to be my muse for a few picture ideas. Once the ceremony was over, it was party time, and she was the leader of the dance floor. She made sure that everybody was up and dancing! Check out some of my favorite photos below. I would love to shoot another Oheka Castle wedding someday!
