Nancy & Joe came to me through a referral from a friend last summer for their wedding at The Tirell Room. I was thrilled when they wanted to do an engagement session, and after we had such an awesome day shooting down in Hull, MA at Nantasket Beach and Fort Revere, I knew their wedding would be just as fun. The day of the wedding I met Nancy at the Boston Marriott Quincy, where she was getting ready and listening to the best music ever! I love 80’s, 90’s and early 2000’s music and she had almost the exact same playlist that I do. On top of awesome music, she had lots of bling and accessories that I loved, a fun second dress to change into, and not one, not two, but THREE pairs of awesome shoes! A bride after my own heart 🙂 Needless to say I had a lot of fun doing the detail photos!
After she finished getting ready, we headed to the Tirrell Room, where Nancy & Joe shared their first look followed by their ceremony and reception. It was a wonderful summer night with family, friends, and great music!
Victoria Inn Wedding – Hampton, NH – Valerie & Shawn

What better way to spend your birthday than shooting a wedding? Hey there’s even a cake so it’s a win win! Valerie & Shawn had a beautiful day at the Victoria Inn in Hampton, NH. It’s a gorgeous intimate venue with beautiful rooms, and a permanent event pavilion in the back. When the entire wedding day is on site in one place, it makes the day go so smoothly. I’ll admit those days are some of my favorites! I get to focus more on my work and a little less on the schedule or timeline since there’s a little more flexibility.
Valerie was one of the first new friends I made when I moved out to Boston 12 years ago to move in with my Dad and finish college, we had a graphic design class together. Even though our paths took us in different directions, we stayed in touch via social media. I was thrilled when she wanted to meet about wedding photography after her engagement to Shawn! They are such a sweet couple and have so much fun together and with their family and friends. I felt like part of the family the whole day! Valerie looked gorgeous in her dress, and her bridesmaids were glowing in a coral pink. The groom & groomsmen complimented them in teal. Lots of bright summer colors, perfect for a June wedding!
After a beautiful ceremony at the gazebo, we headed to the pavilion to party! Here’s to another beautiful and fun wedding in the books!
The Margate Wedding – Lake Winnipesaukee, NH – Madison & Zack

Ever since we had so much fun at Madison & Zack’s Salem Willows engagement session, I couldn’t wait for their June wedding at The Margate Resort on Lake Winnipesaukee. Destination weddings are always fun, they’re like mini vacations for me, so I was excited to have a weekend away and shoot a great wedding in the process!
The whole day was so much fun, full of family and friends, lots of laughs and an overall great time. Madison is a very detail-oriented bride and it showed. Everything was set up, planned out and decorated to perfection. One of my favorite details was the aisle runner she made with their timeline starting from when they met and going all the way until the wedding day. It was so creative and sweet! But my absolute favorite part of the ceremony were the tortoise ring bearers. They own 2 tortoises which we had planned to have them in the engagement session but it didn’t work out. I was so excited to see them at the wedding! Madison made a special ring bearer pillow to fit over the larger one’s shell and they were pulled in a blue wagon by their nephews.
After we had some fun with photos on beaches and boats, and even included me wading into the lake to get a shot, it was time to party! They danced the night away and had a great time. I definitely hope to shoot at the Margate again soon!
Stevens Estate Wedding – North Andover, MA – Erica and Albie

My next event was Erica & Albie’s Stevens Estate Wedding. It was held over Memorial Day weekend in North Andover, MA. Erica & Albie were one of my first consults, and my very first booking when I joined the wonderful 617 Weddings! May seemed so far away when we booked last August, but it seemed to come so quickly 🙂 I love estate wedding venues, so I was excited to see the Steven’s Estate. The bridal suite was big, beautifully decorated, and full of gorgeous, natural light. We even had a few moments to shoot a few bridal photos before heading to the ceremony. Erica was stunning in her beaded lace dress and the bridesmaids were in different shades of my favorite color, purple, with accents of yellow.
The day was filled with lots of family and personal touches. The ceremony was officiated by Erica’s brother, and their wedding party was filled with family, such as Albie’s father as his best man, and other great friends by their side. It was a day filled with lots of love and emotion, and you could see how excited they were to be getting married, surrounded by family and friends. It was such a beautiful day and I hope to shoot at the Stevens Estate again soon!
Spencer Peirce Little Farm Wedding – Newbury, MA – Julia & Marlon

Julia & Marlon’s beautiful wedding was held at the Spencer Peirce Little Farm in Newbury, MA. I’d never been there but they were so excited about the venue and I couldn’t wait to see it! It is a place they like to visit often, and Marlon even proposed to Julia there. We even did their first look photos at the spot where he proposed, next to the pig pen! Yes, there were live animals right out front by the ceremony space, 2 very large pigs, a horse, a donkey, and a herd of sheep. I made sure to visit with them when I had a minute, and even got to feed the donkey an apple! 🙂 If you’re looking for a beautiful, rustic venue, Spencer Peirce Little Farm is a great place to check out!
Their short, but sweet ceremony was held in front of the old farm house, and the lighting was absolutely perfect! For the reception, there was a large tent out in the back, and all of the tables were decorated with flower boxes and other beautiful rustic details. The wedding was coordinated by Tiffany Learned of Detailed Engagements, and she did a great job! It was a wonderful evening full of family, friends, and great moments 🙂
York Harbor Inn Spring Wedding – Veronica & Ryan

Veronica & Ryan’s beautiful York Harbor Inn Wedding was my first full lead wedding of 2015 and it was a great kickoff to this year’s wedding season. It was such a long winter with all of the storms we had out here on the east coast, and I am so happy to be getting busy again after being cooped up in the house for so long. We shot their engagement session last fall at an orchard, which was so much fun and a nice contrast to their spring seaside wedding photos.
I was so excited for their wedding day when it finally came! We had met for lunch at the York Harbor Inn a couple of weeks before for their final meeting and it was so beautiful, a perfect seaside location. When the wedding day arrived, the weather was bright and sunny, a nice change from the cold days we’d been having for so long. They had a wonderful ceremony at a park across the street from the inn, followed by formal photographs on a walkway around the beach that lent itself to beautiful natural backdrops, and then the guests and wedding party were treated a trolley tour of the York, Maine area before the reception.
The reception was even more fun with lots of dancing, great food, and glow necklaces that somehow got made into jump ropes. The crowd was very energetic and fun! They are such a sweet couple and I’m so happy they chose me and 617 Weddings to capture their special day!
Boston North End Engagement Photos – Katie & Michael

As soon as I met with Katie & Michael, I knew their engagement photos were going to be a good time. They are both so sweet with fun, outgoing personalities! They both live in the North End in Boston, so that is where they chose to have their engagement photos. Of course, with all of the snow and blizzards, we had to reschedule a couple of times, but in the end the timing worked out. Our session fell on the same day as the Patriot’s Superbowl Parade, and since everyone was busy at that, it meant no people walking around in the back of our pictures! I even had the help of our office assistant, Rosie for the day. We started at Christopher Columbus Park, walked through the North End, stopping at some of their favorite spots, including where Michael proposed at Battery Wharf, and finally made our way over to Paul Revere Park by the Zakim Bridge. It was also right before Valentine’s day, so we had some fun taking pictures with (and of course eating) some candy hearts! We lucked out with fairly nice weather as far as January goes, too! I can’t wait for their October 2015 Wedding at Brookstone Park in Derry, New Hampshire!

Here it is finally, my last shoot from 2014! When I’m not shooting weddings, one of the few other types of photography I enjoy is food photography. I was referred to The Ship Restaurant in Lynnfield, MA. They just brought on a new manager and new head chef and wanted to update their website and social media with professional quality pictures of their new dishes. They can also hold functions there as well.
The food was amazing, and the pasta there is hand made! The new chef is from Italy, and while there’s an Italian focus to the food, there are lots of other options too. It’s no secret that I love food, so photographing it (and sometimes getting to eat it) is awesome. My favorite dish had to be the spaghetti. The fresh pasta and giant meatballs were so good. Here are some of my favorite shots. I hope to do lots more food photography for the amazing restaurants in this area!
On the Marsh Wedding – Jaime & Alex – Kennebunk Maine Wedding

Jaime & Alex’s wedding at On the Marsh in Kennebunk, Maine was my last full wedding of the year. It was also the only rainy one! It was in November, so I guess I lucked out for the most part! We started with getting ready at the King’s Port Inn just down the street. They decided to do a first look, but since it was pouring out and cold, we had to do it in the lobby area. Not the most beautiful spot, but it worked! I’m really beginning to love first looks. Aside from being a major time saver on the wedding day, the groom’s reaction to his bride is always so genuine and emotional. I just love it!
They had a lot of personal touches to their day that I really loved. Her dress was a gorgeous champagne color, and she splurged on gorgeous crystal covered Betsey Johnson shoes. They are Blue by Betsey Johnson, a line of gorgeous weddings shoes. I wish I’d known about them when I got married! They also had mad-libs instead of a guestbook, and wedding pies instead of a wedding cake. I had blueberry, and it was awesome! They decided to forego a DJ (which we don’t usually recommend) but they had someone pre-mix their music for the night, and it was done really well. It was also a lot of 90’s and boy band songs, which is my guilty pleasure when it comes to music!
Because of the rain, we weren’t really able to get many bridal portraits. We did the traditional family and wedding party photos in the dinner space, and of course the usual candid reception photos. Luckily for me, Jaime and Alex were happy to come outside with me for a few minutes to get a couple of shots I had been wanting to try. My husband had been asking me for months to do a “rainy umbrella shot”. It never rained so I wasn’t able to do it. This is the only reason I was ok with a little rain. I finally got the shot and it came out great! I’m always thrilled when couples are open to photo ideas and don’t mind a little yucky weather.
On the Marsh is a great venue, and I hope to shoot there again sometime in the summer when they can do outdoor ceremonies!
Inn at Hastings Park Wedding – Alyssa & Brad

As I posted a few blog posts ago, Alyssa & Brad had booked me only a month before their wedding. I was so glad I was available for them! They had a very intimate wedding with only about 30 guests. The ceremony was at Tower Park in Lexington, MA, and the reception was at the Inn at Hastings Park, also in Lexington. They shared their first look at the beautiful Old North Bridge in Concord. Their ceremony was short and sweet, and very intimate since they didn’t have very many guests. Just close friends and family. Of course, their adorable dog Rusty was in the wedding party too!
